Deutsch Child allowance
Child benefit amount since 01.01.2023
From January 2023, child benefit will increase to a uniform 250 euros per month per child. There are no longer different amounts depending on the number of children. People who already receive or have applied for child benefit do not have to submit a new application. They will automatically receive the higher payment through the family benefits office.
For new applications for child benefit, the tax ID of the entitled parent and of the child is required. This ID must be provided to the family benefits office. If the tax ID is not yet available at the competent family fund, the family fund will contact the applicant and request the tax ID.
Child benefit is paid to the child.
