Family godparents

Daily practical support and family guidance from a trained family godparent.

The family godparent can help you and your family

  • regularly
  • over a longer period
  • responsible
  • reliably
  • by arrangement

offer the following support in the daily life of their family:

  • Playing with a child in the home while the parents do other activities in the home
  • Taking a baby for a walk in a pram
  • Playing with a child in the family home while the parents are doing other activities in the home
  • Care for a child (1 year or older) for a period of time in the family's home, even in the absence of the parents, provided that the volunteer has known the family for some time and are familiar with each other
  • Walking with a child
  • Read to a child
  • Feeding a child or eating with them
  • Changing a child's diaper or taking a child to the toilet
  • Drop off and/or pick up a child at the nursery/daycare centre
  • Take a child to bed
  • Accompanying to doctors and authorities

Prerequisites for the placement of a family godparent:

  • You have at least one child who is between 0-3 years old
  • You still need everyday support with a newborn
  • You have twins or triplets and need support in everyday life
  • You have fallen ill and the support of your own family is not possible
  • They have applied for home help, but the application has not yet been approved by the health insurance
  • Everything is just too much for them in the everyday life of their young family and support from other people within and outside the family is not possible

Costs

An expense allowance of €7 per hour is payable to the mediated family sponsor. If you are in possession of an Oberursel Pass, the costs are covered by the city.
